The mini app Initiative by @arbitrum has been running for about 3.5 months and it’s showing traction
So far the initiative has seen:
• 55 mini apps launched and received grants
• 9 existing apps adding Arbitrum support, including Noice (tipping) and Clanker (launchpad)
It’s a growing ecosystem of lightweight, onchain apps connecting directly into Arbitrum
Transactions on Farcaster that run through Arbitrum have steadily increased over time which is a positive sign of adoption. But they still represent a small share of the overall activity
Base continues to dominate Farcaster transactions, peaking at 88%, while Arbitrum’s share reached about 6.9% at its highest
While it may still be early days for the initiative, the growth shows that Arbitrum can command transactional volume on the social layer
The biggest question to ask is whether it is viable long-term and whether this behaviour can be ingrained in builders once incentives end
